Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) is a Paperless Contracting DoD-wide application designed to eliminate paper from the receipts and acceptance process of the DoD contracting lifecycle. The goal is to enable authorized Defense contractors and DoD personnel the ability to create invoices and receiving reports and access contract related documents.
The Department of Defense (DoD) Wide Area Workflow (PIEE) began as a Paperless Contracting prototype application to eliminate paper from the Receipt/Acceptance and Invoice/Payment process of the DoD contracting life cycle.

Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) is a secure Web-based system for electronic invoicing, receipt and acceptance. See the Figure below. WAWF creates a virtual folder to combine the three documents required to pay a Vendor - the Contract, the Invoice, and the Receiving Report.
The purpose of this ECP was for WAWF to create an automated workflow for an Intra-Governmental (IGT) Performance Evidence document. This document can be based on the current Receiving Report (RR). WAWF will allow creation of the IGT RR by the Seller via the web or EDI.
