In 1968, Wilmington, Delaware was one of many cities that experienced civil unrest after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. Blacks in Wilmington showed anger and frustration over racial differences in the quality of life, police misconduct and the state of race relations. For several days, groups of young Blacks engaged in civil unrest.
