Wrexham University ( Welsh: Prifysgol Wrecsam; Welsh pronunciation: [priːvˈəsɡɔl ˈrɛksam]) is a public university in the north-east of Wales, with campuses in Wrexham, Northop and St Asaph. Wrexham Glyndwr University has a history that dates back to 1887 when Wrexham School of Science and Art was established. In 1975 the school was renamed North East Wales Institute of Higher Education.
