Well said I remember that story. There's also a one shot comic called Marvel Ruins where everything that can go wrong does in the Marvel Universe. Raven suffered from multiple personality disorder. How much control she had over her shapeshifting power was also tied into her mental state.
In X-Men 1, she morphs into a cop after Wolverine stabs her, in order to get transport off the island. And her wounds are barely bleeding. We see it again when she gets up, transforms, and walks after jumping out of the window in DOFP. Magneto drags her by the bullet in her leg, and she again gets up, transforms, and walks.
