Kurt Elling. Kurt Elling (born November 2, 1967) is an American jazz singer and songwriter. Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Rockford, Elling became interested in music through his father, who was Kapellmeister at a Lutheran church. He sang in choirs and played musical instruments.
Others included a Monk newcomer comedienne Jane Connell as well as Jack Fletcher and George Hill. Most of the numbers were aimed at elements of New York life, though one, "Statehood Hula," took as its object of satire the progress of Hawaii toward becoming the 50th state. "You Fascinate Me So" was performed in the revue by Jean Arnold.
