Using the Bible, well-documented historical events, and some math, we find that the Flood began approximately 4,359 years ago in the year 1656 AM or 2348 BC. Some may look for an exact date (i.e., month and day), but we are not given that sort of precision in Scripture.

If the genealogy provided in Genesis 5 is intended to be comprehensive, we can determine the dates of various events by simply adding up the time spans between fathers and sons, given in Genesis 5: Adam to Seth — 130 years. Seth to Enosh — 105 years.
Genesis 11:10 tells us that Shem was 100 years old two years after the Flood, which means he must have been born when Noah was 502. We conclude that Japheth was the son born when Noah was 500 years old, Shem two years later, and Ham an unspecified period after that.
Noah's 600 years of life up to, and including, the year of the Flood are twice the old calendar's 300-year intercalation cycle while Noah's 350 subsequent years are twice the new calendar's 175-year intercalation cycle, which is also the same as Abraham's lifespan.
