RENEW YOUR FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE. For those of you who want to dedicate a weekend to just get it done, American Flyers’ 16-Hour classroom program is designed for you. The CFI Revalidation weekend ground school course is offered once a month at each of our six school locations.
You need to be able to go back to the basics. Every month, around 3500 instructors need to renew their CFI certificate, and American Flyers has the pleasure of assisting over half of them, between our classroom courses and our online “FIRC for Life” program.
Follow the 6 Step checklist presented in your account under the “Renewal Details” tab to receive your temporary. Warning: You MUST give our ACR team at least 5 business days to process your certificate prior to its expiration date, otherwise we cannot guarantee the renewal of your certificate.
Every 24 calendar months, you must renew your CFI. If you do not renew it, unlike a pilot certificate, it expires! To get it back you must take a check ride, complete with an oral and everything. The moral of the story: don't let your certificate expire.

In fact, American Flyers offers instructors the ability to pay once for their FIRC and then renew their certificates every two years for free. Information on the American Flyers FIRC can be found at www.americanflyers.com/FIRC. Each FIRC provider must renew their course with the FAA every two years.
