Dec 13, 2019 · Attuma’s role in the story came to an abrupt end in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #5, as Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four repelled Atlantis’ invasion of New York. Ghaur and Llyra picked that moment to destroy Atlantis and most of its people, leaving Attuma and his army defeated and badly demoralized by their betrayal.
After discovering that the Big Nguyen Company has stolen Atlantis' sacred guardian dragon and are using her magic to power the portal city of Pan, an enraged Namor attacks the city, only to be thwarted by the New Agents of Atlas, Pan's protectors.
Attuma personally lead the Atlantean attack on New York City, where they did battle with the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and the US military. Who were able to hold off the Atlantean forces until they sent in a giant monster, the Megasaur which turned the tide in their favor until it was defeated by Spider-Man.

Atlantis Attacks was a massive crossover event that played out in nearly every Marvel annual in 1989. Basically, the Lemurians (longtime rivals of the Atlanteans) have returned and are set to rule the world with a little help from the Serpent Crown and their evil serpent god Set.
