    Filmography (TV Series)

George Lucas not withstanding, Scott Marshall is, as has been widely documented, the reason that Mork & Mindy exists, and how Robin Williams and Pam Dawber's careers and life trajectories took the paths they did. The youngest of Garry and Barbara Marshall's 3 children, Garry noticed around 1977 that Scott had more or less stopped watching his Happy Days show. The summer of 1977 was momentous for the arrival in the cinemas of Star Wars, which changed the way movies were made cemented the summer blockbuster as an 'event', and made Sci Fi cool, and Scott Marshall was a fan.

When Garry asked him why he wasn't watching Happy Days much anymore, Scott told him it was because there was no aliens in it. The creation of Mork came as a direct result of this conversation, with the writers recalling their pained reaction to Garry Marshall arriving in to tell them they needed to create an alien to make an appearance in the show. Considering this was shortly after they had created the episode where Fonzie had literally jumped a shark, the news did not particularly go down well. But with the dream suggestion added by Director Jerry Paris, and after some frenetic casting issues, Scott's aunt Ronny spotted an unknown comic performing on the streets of Hollywood for money, who happened to have an alien amongst his incredibly imaginative repertoire, and convinced his father to have a look at him. The unknown comic taking the part and the Happy Days set by storm, and setting in motion the show.

Once the show was up and running, Scott made two appearances:

In Mork's Vacation, as Scott, one of the three boys who find Mork's 'vacated' body stuck up a tree after the cat alien that had swapped bodies had headed home, and on finding a card marked 'Property of Mindy McConnell' with the address, returned Mork's body to her. Scott wondering of Mindy if Mork was her boyfriend, and shaking his head when she says he is, remarking that she seemed such a 'normal girl'.

And Old Muggable Mork, as the Boy Scout who advises Cora and an in disguise (as Clara) Mork that they should probably head home for the Park as it isn't safe after dark, and who calls the police when the Muggers who attacked Cora earlier in the day return.

In 'Taffy Days' the tribute episode to Garry Marshall of 'The Odd Couple' after Garry Marshall passed away in 2016, with cast members from Garry Marshall's different shows, Scott and his mother Barbara appeared uncredited in the scene that Pam Dawber (sporting a Mork style striped shirt) led on behalf of Mork & Mindy.

Scott Marshall is the inspiration behind Mork & Mindy, the sitcom created by his father Garry Marshall. He also appeared in two episodes of the show as Scott Boy Scout, and has directed several movies and TV series.
