Echo (Eliza Dushku) is an Active and the protagonist of the series. She is the most popular Active in the Dollhouse, and has shown skills that transcend the limitations of her parameters during the course of her engagements.

Eliza Patricia Dushku portrays the lead role of Echo on Dollhouse. Additionally, Dushku served as one of the producers for the series, and her production company Boston Diva Productions produced Dollhouse alongside 20th Century Fox Television and Joss Whedon's Mutant Enemy Productions.
