Nicholas J. Carlson serves as Music Director and Conductor of the University Wind Ensemble at the University of Chicago. He also serves as Senior Lecturer and Acting Director of Bands at the University of Illinois Chicago where he teaches the undergraduate conducting curriculum, clarinet, chamber music, and directs the Wind Ensemble.
Get Tickets. The Symphonic Band explores a diverse range of traditional and contemporary repertoire written for the Concert Band. Past repertoire include music by Satoshi Yagisawa, John Zdechlik, Edmond Dédé, William Owens, and David Maslanka. The Symphonic Band is conducted by Nicholas Carlson.
