    • Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) was first introduced as Anakin's padawan, who he nicknamed Snips, before becoming like a father to her. She was essentially a walking death flag, given we had never heard of Anakin's padawan in the films, but she quickly grew up to be one of the biggest characters in the franchise.
    • Sabine Wren. A fearless, revolutionary spirit through and through, the Mandalorian known as Sabine Wren (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) played a seminal role in the rebellion against the Galactic Empire, with her artistry emerging as one of her greatest weapons during the war.
    • Hera Syndulla. Few revolutionary leaders are as driven and brilliant as Hera Syndulla (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who spearheaded her own resistance movement aboard her starship, the Ghost, along with a crew including Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus, and Ezra Bridger, among others.
    • Ezra Bridger. Ezra Bridger is a very different kind of Jedi than the ones we've met in the "Star Wars" canon. Growing up on his own on Lothal, at the height of Imperial oppression, Ezra started out as kind of space Aladdin, stealing to survive, running around on rooftops and subconsciously using his Force abilities to become a con artist.

    • The Other Characters of Star Wars: Ahsoka

The series stars Rosario Dawson as Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan Ahsoka Tano. We know it’s building on Dawson’s previous appearances in The Mandalorian: Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, though when exactly in the timeline Star Wars: Ahsoka is set is a little unclear. We don’t know if the series is entirely set after her last appearance at Lu...

Thanks to The Mandalorian, we already know what Ahsoka’s quest involves. She’s been looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn, the one man with the skills and ambition to rally the dying Empire and restore it to its former might. Thrawn was last seen in the series finale of Rebels. He and Ezra were trapped aboard a Star Destroyer that was dragged to the far...

Speaking of Ezra, while we don’t see this young Jedi hero in the flesh in the trailers, we do briefly glimpse him via hologram. Eman Esfandi has been cast as Ezra for the character’s live-action debut. Presumably, Ezra is still missing along with Thrawn, and Ahsoka’s quest is as much about tracking down her missing friend as it is uncovering the tr...

The character holding that Ezra hologram is none other than Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren, another main character from Rebels. Sabine is a Mandalorian with an unusually rebellious streak and colorful fashion sense. Of the Spectres, Sabine was closest with Ezra, and it’s clear she's still dwelling on Lothal and feeling the pain of his loss even...

Also making the jump from animation to live-action is Hera Syndulla, captain of the Ghost and one of the best pilots in the Rebel Alliance. Lucasfilm has finally confirmed that Hera will be played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. We also see Hera’s trusty droid companion Chopper in the trailer, making this Chopper’s second live-action Star Wars appearan...

As mentioned, Hera's trusty yet cantankerous droid companion Chopper is returning to live-action in Star Wars: Ahsoka. The years don't seem to have changed him one bit.

Chopper isn't the only familiar droid face from the Star Wars cartoons appearing in Star Wars: Ahsoka. Huyang is also back, and again voiced by David Tennant. Huyang was once a droid professor who schooled Jedi younglings in the art of lightsaber construction. These days, he appears to be Ahsoka's personal assistant.

Thrawn’s exact role in the series may be unclear, but we do see two new villains in the trailers. Ray Stevenson and Ivanna Sakhno are both playing Dark Jedi characters who come into conflict with Ahsoka. Stevenson is playing Baylan Skoll, and Sakhno is playing Skoll's apprentice, Shin Hati. Interestingly, these characters may not actually be tradit...

If two new Dark Jedi characters weren't enough, Star Wars: Ahsoka also features a lightsaber-wielding villain Named Marrok. We don't know much about this character, other than that his double-bladed lightsaber and armor suggest he was once a member of Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitorius. Those characters were seemingly all wiped out by Ahsoka and her ...

There are a couple of other familiar faces in the Ahsoka trailer worth pointing out. At one point we see a hologram of Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Motha alongside other representatives of the New Republic. Ahsoka is no doubt trying to make the Republic aware of the threat posed by Thrawn, but the question is whether they’re willing to listen. As The M...

    • Ahsoka Tano. Of course, Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano made her return following her appearances in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Tales of the Jedi. The live-action Ahsoka is a little more stoic and reserved than she was in animation, but this version of the hero is at a much later point in her life.
    • Sabine Wren. Sabine is a Mandalorian of Clan Wren who ran with the Ghost Crew for all four seasons of Rebels. She's always been stubborn and just as rebellious as one would assume, given her colorful and punchy style.
    • Hera Syndulla. By the time audiences see General Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka, she is one of the greatest heroes in the New Republic and likely its very best pilot.
    • Jacen Syndulla. Hera's son, Jacen, appears briefly in Episode 3 of Ahsoka, seen talking with his mom wanting to be a Jedi just like "Auntie Sabine." For those that keep up with news, his return was confirmed thanks to a LEGO set featuring Jacen and the famed Rebels ship, The Ghost.
    • Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) Sabine is a Mandalorian warrior who apprenticed under Ahsoka. She is also a talented artist who enjoys racing on speeders.
    • Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) Hera Syndulla is a former Rebel leader turned New Republic general. She is from the Twi’lek species and has two head-tails and green skin.
    • Huyang (voiced by David Tennant) An ancient droid that has existed for thousands of years, Huyang has taught generations of Jedi how to construct their lightsabers.
    • Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) Thrawn was a high ranking leader in the Galactic Empire who was exiled after the Galactic Civil War. He is a brilliant military strategist and tactician.
    • Hera Syndulla. The Twi’lek Hera Syndulla was a great and renowned hero who followed in her father’s footsteps as a freedom fighter. She served as commander and pilot of the Ghost, the Rebel cell ship at the heart of Star Wars Rebels.
    • Kanan Jarrus. The love of Hera’s life was the brave, funny, often cantankerous Kanan Jarrus, a Jedi whose real name was Caleb Dume. He survived Order 66 as a young Padawan but forsook the Jedi way and went into hiding.
    • Jacen Syndulla. Kanan’s memory also lived on with his green-haired son Jacen, born after his father died. Introduced during Star Wars Rebels‘ final moments, Jacen was seen flying with his mother Hera in the Ghost.
    • Zeb Orrelios. We don’t have to wonder if Star Wars Rebels most lovable warrior with anger issues will make his live-action debut on Ahsoka. Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios made a surprise appearance at a New Republic Rangers base during The Mandalorian‘s third season, voiced by Steve Blum.
