The Oxford English Dictionary (or OED) is a dictionary. It is published by the Oxford University Press in England, and is the largest English dictionary. [1] It traces (or follows in detail) the historical development of the English language, and is a resource to writers and scholars. It describes how the language has been used.
The word was deliberately coined to be the longest word in English, and has since been used [citation needed] in a close approximation of its originally intended meaning, lending at least some degree of validity to its claim. The Oxford English Dictionary contains pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism (30 letters).
