I was debating between Kamelot and Tarja for the last, but although I think Tarja is fun and listen to her a lot, I think Kamelot had to win for the music. Also I have a lot of similar bands I really love but don't really consider symphonic metal. Things like Amaranthe, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Seven Kingdoms.
Excellent band. I recommend the album Trinity by Visions of Atlantis. One of my favorite symph metal albums. A band I used to love and recently came back to is Pythia. Love their first 2 albums especially. More speedy power metal like Nightwishs Oceanborn. And final recommendation is Amberian Dawn.
