  1. I was debating between Kamelot and Tarja for the last, but although I think Tarja is fun and listen to her a lot, I think Kamelot had to win for the music. Also I have a lot of similar bands I really love but don't really consider symphonic metal. Things like Amaranthe, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Seven Kingdoms.

  2. Excellent band. I recommend the album Trinity by Visions of Atlantis. One of my favorite symph metal albums. A band I used to love and recently came back to is Pythia. Love their first 2 albums especially. More speedy power metal like Nightwishs Oceanborn. And final recommendation is Amberian Dawn.

The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic ...

  6. Nightwish's sound tends to evolve a little based on their female vocalist, but some of my favorite bands are Within Temptation, Delain, Amaranthe, Beyond the Black, Epica, Xandria, Sabaton, Lacuna Coil, and Kamelot. Not sure they're all strictly in the "Symphonic Metal" genre, but I like the sound

  7. Nighwish join symphonic metal with Century Child (2002) and, even more, with Once (2004); earlier they just did power metal with keyboards and some gothic-ish influence. Theli by Therion was released in 1996, Vovin in 1998, Deggial in 2000 (the same year of the release of Mother Earth by Within Temptation and of Awaking the Centuries by Haggard).
