Jul 23, 2018 · One of the university gardens at Weihenstephaner. One of the nice things to do while visiting the Weihenstephan in Freising is to spend a bit of time in the University gardens situated atop the hill and near the brewery. We liked was the Parterre Garden, finding it to be attractive and pleasant to see during our summer visit.

Freising is a Landkreis (district) in Bavaria, Germany. Following a recent ranking of the German magazine Focus-Money comparing all German districts it is number one concerning economic growth abilities. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Kelheim, Landshut, Erding, Munich, Dachau and Pfaffenhofen .
The cathedral, with its striking towers, mysterious Romanesque Beasts’ Pillar and superb Baroque interior designed by the Asam Brothers, is one of Freising’s most important sights. On the opposite hill is Weihenstephan, once a Benedictine monastery and now the nucleus of one of the most modern scientific centres in Germany and Europe.
