May 23, 2016 · The new Halifax Central Library opened in December 2014 and is the most significant public building to be built in Halifax in a generation. The library stands as a reflection of the diversity of the community and the modern life within the region as a whole, and as a flagship for all 14 branch libraries servicing the whole municipality.

The combination of layout, font sizes, images and colours has been carefully chosen to make it easy to scan and understand. Along the left side of the page, there is a set of filters.
The Halifax Central Library features a spacious open interior filled with natural light. The layout features an open design and the books are spread out making if feel less cramped than older designed libraries. As with most attractions in Halifax it is easy to access on foot. Read more.
