S.W.A.T. follows an elite Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the Los Angeles Police Department. The show is based on the 2003 film S.W.A.T. and the original 1975 TV series of the same name, which is a spinoff series of the 1972 crime drama series The Rookies. The series was originally cancelled by CBS after six seasons on May 5, 2023.
