Ephraïm Katzir (en hébreu : אפרים קציר ), né Ephraïm Katchalsky, le 16 mai 1916 à Kiev en Ukraine et mort le 30 mai 2009 à Rehovot, est un biologiste et homme politique israélien, qui fut le quatrième président d'Israël du 24 mai 1973 au 29 mai 1978 .
Professor Ephraim Katzir - eminent scientist and the fourth President of the State of Israel - was born in Kiev in 1916 as Ephraim Katchalski. Katzir, who Hebraicized his name when he became President, was what Israelis call "almost a Sabra"; his family immigrated to British-ruled Palestine when he was six years old, and he grew up in Jerusalem.

Ephraim Katzir was Hemed Bet's first commander. The institute in its current form was founded in 1952, after Hemed Bet relocated to an orange grove near Ness Ziona. It was founded partly in a former Palestinian mansion of Wadi Hunayn.
