Apr 3, 2018 · There are such a vast number of planes to appreciate Rear Window on and one of those is its impeccable use of sound as well as a score courtesy of Franz Waxman.In fact, it is quite easy to consider it as a film with a wholly diegetic soundtrack but, in reality, it’s really an intricate weaving of sound orchestration playing against the images onscreen.
Rear Window is a one of the more sophisticated Hitchcock films, and I will always consider it a masterpiece. It has tension, suspense, humour, has a strong voyeuristic tone to it and moves along at a good pace. The cinematography was truly excellent, dark in some scenes and beautiful in another.
