Mar 11, 2008 · If you have a source of PAL 576/50, it will convert that into 576/25, especially on a LCD/DLP as interlasing really does'nt make any sense, on a CRT things are different. PAL is actually a lot simpler than our USA friends who have to worry about the 3:2 pulldown etc, so PAL is not like NTSC. But even then a it's not a total loss.
I'm aware that some games don't support 480p, hence the need for the switch, I tried Zombie Revenge and Carrier and they actually looked pretty good but Sonic Adventure looked Awful, regardless of the game I'd only get a solid picture if I set it to 576i, in 480p mode I'd get sound but the video flash and glitch out my Dreamcast is Ntsc

The new source select bit is required to command the VTC to generate interlaced video based on either the detected interlaced mode or the programmed value in the generator encoding register (offset 0x0068, bit 6). The driver will be updated to provide the ability to set interlaced mode source select through the XVtc_SetSource function call.
