The plot follows Steve Jackson (Poitier) and Wardell Franklin (ungh, Bill Cosby), two friends who lose a winning lottery ticket in a hold up at a gambling joint, as they go on a series of "adventures" to get it back. There's little to no forward momentum propelling the film. It plays out as mostly just scenario after scenario.
