May 13, 2019 · Delete also removes the chat thread from the list but it is a permanent feature. That is, all the messages in the chat thread are gone. You cannot bring back the deleted messages on Messenger.
Sep 27, 2023 · The gray crossed bell to the right of a chat indicates that you've muted the chat. A muted person can send you messages,but you won't be notified that they've sent you a message. You can mute a chat in the Messenger app for as long as you want or use one of the default timings to unmute them when the chosen time elapses.

Sometimes after I’ve sent a message to someone inside a Messenger chat, I see a Grey circle around their mini profile picture in the top left corner of the screen while my chat with them is still open and Im waiting inside the chat to see when they view my new message.
