The University acknowledges and appreciates continued support from York Region residents, current and future students, the business community and the many community groups and government partners who share York’s vision that the new Markham Campus is essential, valuable and beneficial for the entire York Region community.
The new 10-story state-of-the-art campus will be located in a transit integrated, mixed use, and high-density urban core - Markham Centre. Markham was selected by York University with the support of the Ontario Government and York Region in 2015 because of the City’s many established strengths in meeting the University’s important requirements to achieve the desired results for the new campus.

About Our Campuses. Since its founding in 1959, York has grown exponentially. From its humble beginnings, York’s two campuses have expanded to cover over 500 acres. These 500 acres include six libraries, two athletic facilities, cinemas, studios, an indoor golf driving range and hundreds of lecture halls and classrooms.
