Lake Ontario’s level at the start of July was 34 cm below average and 50 cm lower than the water level from last year. At the beginning of July, all of the Great Lakes were at least 38 cm above their chart datum level.
The map above shows the locations for the 53 NOAA/NOS Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS) water level stations on the Great Lakes and connecting channels (blue circles). These stations record a 3 minute average water level every 6 minutes.
Map Controls. Note that the drainage basin polygons are a prerelease dataset that will continue to be updated as new polygons are added. Users should be aware that drainage areas derived from these polygons may differ from the official hydrometric station drainage areas published by WSC.
