One-Time Passwords have been introduced as a means of further securing your Square Enix account. What is One-Time password? A "One-Time Password" is a six-digit number shown on a screen using either a key-ring like the Square Enix Security Token or a smartphone app, such as the Square Enix Software Token.
Using your smartphone's camera, scan the QR code displayed on the Square Enix Account Management page. When the scan is complete, select "Next" on the Square Enix Account Management page. You will be prompted to enter a one-time password. Enter the 6-digit code that appears in the Google Authenticator app to complete registration.
A new One-Time Password will be generated every time the application is launched. Be sure to enter your Square Enix ID, Square Enix password, and the displayed One-Time Password when logging in to your account. You will now be able to enjoy online gaming with maximum security!

The SQUARE ENIX Security Token will change the one-time password every 30 seconds. Remember to enter the password within that timeframe. To use the SQUARE ENIX Security Token for FINAL FANTASY XI, make sure the "One-Time Password" feature under the PlayOnline Viewer Member Settings is set to "Use."

A six digit number One-Time Password will appear on the security token screen once the button is pressed. This password changes after 30 seconds and needs to be entered before it changes. When logging into the Square Enix Account , please enter the One-Time Password when prompted.
