Menken began Menken's acting career with roles in such films as the Mel Brooks comedy "High Anxiety" (1977), the Valerie Landsburg musical "Thank God It's Friday" (1978) and the comedy "The Last Married Couple in America" (1979) with George Segal. Menken also contributed music to the documentary "FTA" (1972) with Jane Fonda.
