  3. Garfield Grove is a Giant Sequoia grove. The entire 2,902 acres (11.74 km 2) lies in Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Nevada range in eastern California in the United States . In December 2001, the neighboring Dillonwood Grove was purchased by the Save The Redwoods League for $10.3 million and added to Sequoia National Park. [1] .

  4. Garfield Grove is in a little-visited area at the southern end of Sequoia National Park. The grove is exceptionally large and in excellent condition, with no development or signs of logging. However, the grove is somewhat difficult to reach and most of it has a low density of sequoias.

    • Lodgepole and Giant Forest. Wilderness permits for the following trails are only issued from the Giant Forest Museum. Twin Lakes Trail: Begins at the Lodgepole Campground.
    • Foothills. Wilderness permits for the following trails are only issued from the Wilderness Office near the Foothills Visitor Center. Middle Fork Trail: Begins near Buckeye Flat Campgroud with a slight grade along the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River.
