Lawrence Hertzog (June 25, 1951 – April 19, 2008) was an American television writer and producer. He is best known for creating the cult series Nowhere Man, which aired for one season during 1995–1996 on UPN. Hertzog was born in Flushing, Queens and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Lawrence Hertzog (June 25, 1951 – April 19, 2008; age 56) was a writer on 24. He wrote one episode, where he was credited as Larry Hertzog.
Lawrence Hertzog was born in Flushing, Queens, in New York City but grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey. When he was 16 years old, Hertzog quit Teaneck High School to pursue a career in horticulture. When that didn't work out, he briefly attended NYU Film School. Eventually, Hertzog moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry.
Through his career, Lawrence has worked as a writer for shows like Hart to Hart, J.J. Starbuck, and Stingray. While working on The A-Team, Patrick Hasburgh, a colleague of Hertzog, named a character after him in an episode of the show, that also featured guest stars Jesse D. Goins and Xander Berkeley. Hasburgh also worked with Hertzog on the show Hardcastle & McCormick, co-created by veteran producer, Stephen J. Cannell.
Hertzog has also written eight episodes of Nowhere Man, also produced by executive producer and co-creator of 24, Joel Surnow. When working on 24, Surnow also named an off-screen CIA character, Larry Hertzog, after him.
Hertzog died of cancer in April 19, 2008 at the age of 56.
