Athletics play an integral role in community building and identity of Madison schools and support the development of commitment, reliability, honesty, integrity, accountability, and perseverance in each of our student athletes.
Madison East High School is one of four comprehensive four-year high schools in Madison, Wisconsin. It was established in 1922, making it the oldest public high school still operating in Madison. The school mascot is "Peppy Purgolder", an animal resembling a feline.
At Madison East High School, we have a strong tradition of success and pride as a school community, based on our ongoing mission to open doors of opportunity for our students by providing high expectations for all with a focus on college, career and community readiness.
