JOHN MAJOR’S son-in-law, Luke Salter, died in hospital yesterday, three months after disclosing that he had an inoperable form of brain cancer. Mr Salter, who was 30 and had qualified recently as a hospital doctor, was the childhood sweetheart of the Majors’ only daughter Elizabeth, whom he married two years ago.
