The Chicago Academy for the Arts, founded in 1981, is an independent high school for the performing and visual arts located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It was named a National School of Distinction by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
At The Academy, you’ll find AP and Honors courses, dedicated teachers, and high academic standards engaging the distinctly creative minds of our students. The Academy’s academic program is built upon core studies in Humanities (English, Social Studies, and World Languages) Mathematics, and Science.
We invite you to attend any of our Open Houses and the hundred-plus concerts, plays, readings, screenings, recordings, and exhibitions produced by Academy students throughout the year. Additionally, we invite you to register for our Saturday Program and Summer Program.
