Grosvenor, William Mason was born on April 24, 1835 in Ashfield, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Review Mason and Esther D. (Scarborough) Grosvenor. Education Attended Yale, 1861-1853. Career Editor, New Haven (Connecticut) Palladium, 1859-1861. Enlisted in 13th Regiment Connecticut Volunteers, 1861, promoted captain, 1862.
William Mason Grosvenor was gifted in music, literature, mathematics, and as a linguist; was one of the most expert amateur billiard players in New York, could carry on three games of chess simultaneously, and played a remarkable game of whist and of tennis.
On October 9, 1932, she married William Mason Grosvenor, Jr., an executive in a chemical engineering firm. They were divorced on February 17, 1941. [ 10 ] She had one child, son Judson Bosworth, from her third marriage to architect Barton H. Bosworth.
