Diaz Lake Campground is on the shore of 80-acre Diaz Lake along Highway 395, three miles south of Lone Pine. Diaz Lake is popular for summer waterskiing, boating, and swimming. Motorized boats are permitted on the lake from mid-May through October. At other times kayaks, canoes, and other non-motorized watercraft are still allowed.

The campground and lake itself is nice, and so convenient to Lone Pine. We stayed here because I had a trail race in the Alabama Hills early on Saturday morning. We knew things were going to go off the rails when a dozen cars/trucks packed into a single camp site and the music started blaring. The loud music and yelling didn't stop until 4am.
