After his parents tragically die in a car crash and his scholarship money dries up, Jamie (Nicholas Shields) is sent away from his prep school to the icy regions of northern Canada. His uncle Angus (Lee J. Campbell) lives there as a trapper. At first Jamie finds his new isolated existence boring, but it becomes far more exciting when he and his new friend, Awasis (Evan Adams), a Cree boy, become lost in the wilderness and have to fight for their survival.
