Woman Haters was the inaugural short released by Columbia. It was the sixth entry in Columbia’s “Musical Novelty” series, with all dialogue delivered in rhyme. Jazz Age-style music plays throughout the entire short, with the rhymes spoken in rhythm with the music.

Moe, Larry and Curly join the exclusive Women Haters Club swearing off women and marriage. Their pact soon begins to fall apart when Larry announces that he is engaged. Egged on by his friends he promises not to pursue her but marries her in secret.
The Stooges' first short was done entirely in rhyme. When Larry breaks his oath to the Woman Haters Club by marrying, he is treated like a traitor by his fellow members. But getting out of the marriage may be even more harmful than anything his friends could ever do to him!
