Early life and education. Love was born Ludmya Bourdeau on December 6, 1975 [5] in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. She is the daughter of Mary and Jean Maxime Bourdeau. [6] At a time of political repression, her parents emigrated together from Haiti in 1973, leaving their two older children behind with family.
