Big Town is a popular long-running radio drama featuring a corruption-fighting newspaper editor initially played from 1937 to 1942 by Edward G. Robinson in his first radio role, with echoes of the conscience-stricken tabloid editor he had played in the film Five Star Final.

Aug 20, 2007 · Reviews. Edward G Robinson started the series in 1937, but left in 1942. There is only one of his episodes here. Edward Pawley took over from 1943 to 1952 when Walter Greaza finished off the series, which also briefly had a television incarnation, as well as movies and comic books.
