Dalgliesh is a British crime drama television series, based on the Adam Dalgliesh novels by PD James. Bertie Carvel stars as the title character, an enigmatic detective–poet. The six-part series premiered on Acorn TV on 1 November 2021 in the United States followed by a Channel 5 premiere on 4 November in the United Kingdom.
Dalgliesh is a TV series that follows the crime-fighting career of DCI Adam Dalgliesh, a poet detective, from 1970s England to the present day. The series stars Bertie Carvel, Carlyss Peer, Alistair Brammer and others, and is based on the novels by P.D. James.

Adam Dalgliesh ( / ˈdælɡliːʃ / DAL-gleesh) is a fictional character who is the protagonist of fourteen mystery novels by P. D. James; the first being James's 1962 novel Cover Her Face. He also appears in the two novels featuring James's other detective, Cordelia Gray .
Dalgliesh, Kate Miskin, and new D.S. Daniel Tarrant investigate the murder of an abrasive female defence barrister who successfully defended a shady young man on murder charges, only for him to begin dating her daughter.
