Hunter × Hunter (ハンター×ハンター, Hantā × Hantā), pronounced "Hunter Hunter", is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since March 16, 1998, although the manga has frequently gone on extended hiatuses since 2006.
Hunter X Hunter follows the adventures of Gon Freaks, a highly empathetic twelve-year-old boy. While residing with his aunt Mito and his grandmother on Whale Island, Gon learns of the continued existence of his father Ging, and decides to take the Hunter Exam himself in order to discover his whereabouts.
Drawn to the mystique of the unknown, Hunters travel the world in search of terrifying creatures, incredible riches, and unexplored lands. Gon Freecss is a naive-yet-determined young boy who aspires to join the ranks of these individuals, in order to find his missing father Ging - a master of the profession himself.
