The series centers on Eric T. Duckman (voiced by Jason Alexander ), a widowed, lewd, self-hating, egocentric, anthropomorphic duck who lives with his family in Los Angeles (as mentioned in the episode " Bev Takes a Holiday ") and works as a private detective.
Duckman and Cornfed travel to a private investigator's convention where Duckman is slated to receive the "Lifetime Achievement Award". There Duckman runs into his former rival from his detective school days, Lauren Simone, who's become a successful sleuth.
