Sep 18, 2023 · Occidental College rose two places in US News & World Report ’s 2024 Best Colleges rankings, landing at No. 35 nationally, a 14-year high. The College also jumped a whopping 44 spots to No. 26 in the publication’s Top Performers on Social Mobility index, which looks to measure how well schools graduate economically disadvantaged students.

Occidental College. Occidental College is a small college in Los Angeles, California. Several famous people, such as Barack Obama, have attended the college. Its name comes from the Latin for "western". The college was started in 1887 and moved to where it is now in 1914. Many of its early buildings were designed by Myron Hunt.
