Springwells Township is a defunct civil township in Wayne County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. All of the land is now incorporated as part of the cities of Detroit and Dearborn. Springwells is also famously known as the birthplace of Henry Ford .

The story begins in Springwells Township, Wayne County, Michigan, on 30 July 1863, when Henry was the first-born of William and Mary Ford’s six children. Growing up on a prosperous family farm, he was educated in a one-room school, where he showed an early interest in all things mechanical.
Henry Ford's interest in preservation of historic buildings began when his childhood home was threatened by a road improvement project in Ford's hometown of Springwells Township, Michigan (now the city of Dearborn).
