- Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred. Moiraine, a powerful Aes Sedai searching for the Dragon Reborn, is played by movie star Rosamund Pike. While Moiraine isn't The Wheel of Time's protagonist, she certainly is the most important character in the show.
- Daniel Henney as al'Lan Mandragoran. Lan, Moiraine's Warder and her closest friend, is played by Daniel Henney. Warders are warriors bonded to their respective Aes Sedai, protecting them from any harm and acting as loyal confidants.
- Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor. Rand al'Thor, an ordinary villager who discovers he's the Dragon Reborn, is played by Josha Stradowski. Rand evokes the "chosen one" trope in its most traditional sense; a humble villager at the center of an age-old prophecy that may save or destroy the world.
- Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon. Mat, a witty gambler and the group's comical relief, was recast in The Wheel of Time Season 2 and is now played by Dónal Finn.
