The character Hannibal Lecter, portrayed by Sir Anthony Hopkins in the film The Silence of the Lambs (1991), did not utter the famous line “Hello, Clarice” during the course of the movie. However, the line did appear in the sequel, Hannibal (2001), when Lecter and Clarice (played by Julianne Moore) speak over the phone for the first time.

- “Is it a children’s story?” When Hopkins first received the screenplay for “The Silence of the Lambs,” he initially thought it was for a film for kids.
