From the garage to a tech giant, Bill Hewlett and David Packard shook up early technology. Though noteworthy as individuals, Bill Hewlett and David Packard built careers as promising engineers before co-founding HP in 1939.

He moved to California in 1916 when his physician father took a position at the Stanford Medical School. As a boy, Bill developed a keen interest in science.
In 1994, he and Bill Hewlett donated $77 million for the David Packard Electrical Engineering Building. In 1964, David and Lucile Packard established the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
