Castle in the Clouds offers tours of the historic 1914 mansion, on-site dining at The Carriage House Restaurant, community programs and events, rental space for weddings and private events, horseback riding at the nearby Riding in the Clouds, and access to 28 miles of walking or hiking trails with waterfalls.
Castle in the Clouds (or Lucknow) is a 16-room mansion and 5,294-acre (2,142 ha) mountaintop estate in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, opened seasonally to the public by the Castle Preservation Society.
Castle in the Clouds is home to the Lucknow mansion, an Arts and Crafts-style 16-room home built in the Ossipee Mountains in 1914. The 135-acre estate is surrounded by 5,500 acres of conserved land, provides one of the most stunning views of the lakes and mountains, and is a great place to visit for people of all ages.
Jun 20, 2022 · Castle in the Clouds is open weekends from mid-May to Memorial Day, then daily through late October. Visit in the summer to enjoy lush green foliage and flowers in bloom, and in the fall to see the estate sporting the vivid colors of autumn.
Castle in the Clouds provides anywhere from one hour to a full day of enriching activities for all ages. The property is home to the 1913-1914 Lucknow Mansion, the premier historical museum in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
The Carriage House Restaurant is that intimate setting you’re looking for. The original horse stalls have since been converted into a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Located on the first floor of The Carriage House, this indoor site has access to the Exhibit Gallery and can accommodate up to 100 guests.
Castle in the Clouds specializes in self-guided, guided, and behind-the-scenes tours of the historic 1914 mansion. We have on-site dining at The Carriage House Restaurant, where visitors can enjoy their meal in vintage horse stalls or outside on the terrace with sweeping views of New Hampshire's largest lake and surrounding mountains.
