Kaa is a fictional character from The Jungle Book stories written by Rudyard Kipling. He is a giant snake who is 30 ft (9.1 m) long. In the books and many of the screen adaptations, Kaa is an ally of main protagonist Mowgli, acting as a friend and trusted mentor or father figure alongside Bagheera and Baloo.
Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. Kaa first appears watching as Shere Khan, a Bengal tiger with a crippled leg, breaks jungle law by hunting down a family of humans, with only a child escaping. She witnesses Bagheera, a panther drawn to the scene, rescue the man-cub, Mowgli, and takes him to a family of Indian wolves being raised by Nisha and Vihaan .
