The President's Plane Is Missing is a 1967 novel by Robert J. Serling. The book was made into a made-for-TV film by the same name, directed by Daryl Duke, which aired on 23 October 1973 in the United States.

Serling (Robert is not to be confused with Rod) has written nonfiction about the airways and one other non-novel and this time combines both forms in a story of what happens when the President's plane disappears off the radar screen, crashes in Arizona.
His older brother, Robert J. Serling, became a best-selling author with his 1967 novel, “The President’s Plane Is Missing.” The book is an entertaining thriller that combines the author’s expertise in aviation (he was the aviation editor for UPI) with some typical Washington, DC intrigue.
