- Anne Boleyn: The Most Famous Tower of London Ghost. The headless ghost of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s ill-fated second wife, is said to haunt the Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula and the Tower’s corridors.
- The White Lady. This unknown ghost haunts the White Tower, often seen waving at children. She is distinguished by her lingering perfume and is believed to have been someone once imprisoned within the Tower walls.
- The Princes in the Tower (Edward V and Richard, Duke of York) The young princes, Edward V and his brother Richard, who mysteriously vanished in the Tower, are seen as frightened, shadowy figures holding each other, embodying lost innocence.
- The Countess of Salisbury (Margaret Pole) Margaret Pole, the Countess of Salisbury, is said to relive her gruesome execution by a rookie executioner, with spectators hearing her screams and seeing her ghost fleeing from a phantom axeman on Tower Green.
- Lady Anne Boleyn. The spirit of Anne Boleyn has been spotted wandering through the Tower of London on various occasions. Her ghost supposedly still lingers at the scene of her death.
- Thomas Becket (Saint Thomas of Canterbury) Thomas Becket likely was one of the first ghosts encountered in the tower. For ten years, from 1155 to 1162, he was the Lord Chancellor of England, and from 1162 until his murder in 1170, he was the most prominent English nobleman as the Archbishop of Canterbury.
- Henry VIII’s Armor. Keep your wits about you if you plan on checking out the Tower’s most famous display, the ancient armor of Henry VIII. This is rumored to be haunted by a particularly evil ghost.
- The White Lady in the Stronghold. Here’s a trivia about old English structures: A female spirit, in either white or black garments, has been reported to haunt the keep of nearly every castle in England.
- Beauchamp Tower. A very haunted tower, where there have been reports of mild poltergeist phenomena and gentle gasps. In the battlements, Elizabeth’s Walk boasts a spectral cavalier, whilst the apparition of the Lady Jane Grey’s husband, Lord Guildford Dudley, who was executed at the age of about 19, appears with tears streaming down his face.
- The Bloody Tower. The Haunted Tower of London’s location of the famous two young princes legend: Edward V, King of England and his brother, Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York, aged 12 and 9 respectively, were under the care of their uncle, Richard III, mysterious vanished, supposedly murdered in the tower on his orders circa 1483.
- Council Chamber. Tower of London ghosts include the phantom shrieks of Guy Fawkes heard wailing from the room where he was prepared for execution.
- Main Entrance. During the Second World War, a guard saw a group in old fashioned uniform approach the haunted Tower of London bearing a stretcher with a decapitated body, fading at the point where they would have met the no doubt astonished witness.

Throughout its 925 years, the Tower of London has played host to various historical figures. Whether they were guests staying there for pleasure, or held against their will, not everyone managed to find their way out. Here are some famous ghosts that are said to haunt the Tower of London.
