The Death Valley Germans (as dubbed by the media) were a family of four tourists from Germany who went missing in Death Valley National Park, on the California–Nevada border, in the United States, on 23 July 1996.
Jun 3, 2021 · Death Valley National Park (NPS) On November 11th, 2009 Tom and a friend spent 2 days searching the area south of Anvil Spring Canyon, following instinctual paths towards China Lake NWS. The search resulted in the discovery of Egbert and Cornelia's remains, where Tom had guessed they would be.
I know this isn't really a currently unsolved mystery, but this subreddit is where I discovered the story of the Missing Death Valley Germans (and the Tom Mahood website) and I wanted to share my interactive map with any other fans of the DVG mystery.
Aug 10, 2020 · In July 1996, a family of four went into Death Valley National Park and never returned. The family, who included Egbert Rimkus, 388; his son Georg Weber, 11; Cornelia Meyer, 27; and Max Meyer, 4; was visiting California, America from Dresden, Germany.
There have never been many visuals in the storytelling since the discovery was long ago, and the site is deep in the desert and only accessible by foot - after all this is what killed the Germans although admittedly they were understandably not prepared for a hike.
